International Students

All courses at Oxford College Australia are delivered and assessed by our qualified trainers in a structured classroom environment designed to simulate real workplace conditions. Various teaching methodologies, including case studies, discussions, practical exercises, demonstrations, and role-plays, are used to enhance learning. Students receive comprehensive training materials and resources to develop the employability skills required for their qualifications. International students must comply with their visa conditions. Each student is provided with 15 face-to-face contact hours and an additional 5 hours of structured online distance learning tasks. Attendance is monitored through the completion of weekly assigned tasks to ensure satisfactory academic progress.

To be awarded a qualification, students must demonstrate competency in all required assessments for each unit of study. Those who meet all assessment criteria will receive a formal qualification, such as a Certificate IV in Business. If a student completes only part of a course, they will be issued a Statement of Attainment, detailing the units they have successfully completed.

Oxford College Australia offers modern facilities with highly qualified staff. We maintain small class sizes to foster a professional yet supportive learning environment. Our computer labs are well-equipped with both Mac and PC computers, along with industry-endorsed software and high-speed internet for research and self-study. Teachers utilize computers and overhead projectors to enhance lesson delivery.

Students have access to a wide range of learning and library resources through our online system. Hard copies of materials can be requested from reception as needed.

Student support services are available at Oxford College Australia campus during regular business hours. Before starting their course, students must attend an orientation session. This session provides an overview of college life, rules, and regulations, as well as essential information about studying at Oxford College Australia and living in Australia.

Students may be eligible for credit based on their previous education, skills, or work experience through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC). Interested students should contact the college for further details on the application process.

Students who have completed equivalent units of study at another Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in Australia may be eligible for credit transfer. To apply, students must provide a Statement of Attainment from their previous provider.

The Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Framework regulates the education of international students in Australia, ensuring high-quality education and student protection. The cost of living in Melbourne varies depending on the type of lifestyle you lead. The 12 months living cost estimated provided by the Department of Home Affairs, from October 2019 is:  Student / guardian:   AUD$21,041 Partner / Spouse:   AUD$7,362 Child:  AUD$3,152

International students are generally restricted from transferring from their principal course of study within the first six months of enrollment. This restriction also applies to any packaged courses. A transfer to another institution may be granted under special circumstances, in accordance with our Transfer Between Providers Policy. Students who wish to withdraw from their course must submit a formal withdrawal request by completing the Withdrawal Form, which is available at reception or online. The request must be addressed to the Admissions Manager and include: 

• Apply in writing using the Withdrawal Form (available at the Reception or online) 

• Address it to the Admissions Manage 

• State his/her name and student number 

• State program and date of commencement they wish to withdraw from 

• State reason for withdrawal 

• Provide contact details  

A withdrawal request is not considered effective until it has been received and approved by the college. However, students retain the right to seek further action under Australia’s Consumer Protection Law if necessary.
